Christopher Carl is not new to DJ'ing. He has been around for many years developing his craft and playing out at festivals and internet radio shows. You may have already heard of him under his previous aliases:    dj404, fluffypuppy, The Electric Jesus Machine, SERV, and a few others. So why so many names? Some were a phase, some were experimental projects he was working on. In March 2008, he decided to put away all the different names and bring it all together under his very own name. So let's talk a bit about his history as a DJ, producer, promoter, and record label AR.

  • 1992 - 1993: Was 1/4 of a local California rap group, Inzperashen. The group toured around the Antelope Valley and Mojave Desert performing at churches and outdoor concerts.
  • 1993: Formed a Christian DJ crew called CDP, providing spiritually positive and energetic music for church youth groups and birthday parties.
  • 1993 - 1995: Threw several small scale raves at an apartment clubhouse / pool in Broken Arrow, OK.
  • 1994: Produced an indie cassette under the alias "Curious C" titled "The Curious Adventure". Musically, this project was a mix of disco house, industrial, ambient, and rap.
  • 1994: Performed at his first conference in front of thousands of students at the annual Rhema Campmeeting.
  • 1995 - 1999: Teamed up again with Inzperashen member and best friend John Baltzley to tag team as resident DJ's for a youth group in Lancaster, CA. The two played out live at events in Lancaster as well as Costa Rica and Trinidad.
  • 1998: Worked with N*Soul Records and compiled two CD's (Eclectica 2 & Eclectica 3) and assisted in track selection on another project (Electrapop).
  • 1998: Teamed up with Quincy Moran to pursue radio
  • 1999: Launched "realifemusic", an internet radio show that would last until 2004.
  • 1999 - present: Took on the alias, dj404, and started focusing primarily as a club DJ, playing at many small raves and house parties nationwide.
  • 2000: Teamed up with DJ Pat D in California to start the first collective group of California Christian DJ's, "Southern California DJ & Groovemakers Fellowship". This group planned day parties at parks, house parties, and other events in the Inland Empire.
  • 2003: 1st Cornerstone Festival DJ Performance in Dance Club
  • 2005: Released a 12 track remix single titled "Deep Inside" under the dj404 alias. The track did fairly well on Beatport.com and frequently gets airplay on XM Satellite Radio's The System channel.
  • 2005: 2nd Cornerstone Festival DJ Performance in Dance Club and One Life Radio generator stage.
  • 2006: Clover Festival, the first electronic festival to exclusively promote Christian values.
  • 2007: 3rd Cornerstone Festival DJ Performance in Dance Club and Tastyfresh.com generator stage.
  • 2007: Launched Cast The Fire, a website providing a 24 hour stream of dance music and a large download section with mixsets from DJ's all over the planet.
  • 2008: Dropped all aliases and took on his own name, Christopher Carl, professionally.

Currently, Christopher is heavily promoting himself nationwide in an effort to get booked on much larger venues and events. His style is primarily house music, but he has been known to dip into trance if it falls into the direction his set is going. His influences are heavily pulled from his high school days listening to club music and late night DJ's on the radio during the years of 1988 - 1993. While playing new tracks in his set, he carefully chooses tracks that are reminiscent of those old skool days.

Personally, Christopher is a follower of Jesus Christ. His faith is extremely important and the life he received from the love of Christ is priceless to him. He is also married to Crystal and the two have a website that focuses on their life together in an attempt to keep all their friends and family nationwide updated on what they are doing. They live in a small suburb south of Topeka, KS.
